Awesome Tools

The Children's Perfect Placement Kit is excellent. I used to eyeball where the design should go, and I would say I tossed about 50% of finished items. The placement templates are great for showing where they designs should be stitched. I still look at my printed template of the design on the onesie or another item; to see if I like where it places the design. Sometimes I move it around a little, but I'm way ahead of where I would be without it. The chest template for putting the designs on the front keeps you from having the design half under the arm or around the neck of the baby or child. Even if the t-shirt or top has trim or a lower neckline, you can still use other markers, e.g. the armhole to know where to put the design. I offered to do 12 aprons for our playgroup, and when the aprons arrived I realized the design needed to be in the same spot on each one. I chose the center chest template and used the top of the apron as the neckline of the shirt; they came out beautifully. I did mess up the first one - Take the apron ties and wrap them up and tie them so they can't wiggle under the hoop, you don't want to stitch over a tie. It makes quite the mess and your hoop is in the middle of it. I hung it by embroidery machine for about 5 years to remind to check for anything under the hoop. There are other Placement Kits are great too. With grandkids, my favorites right now are the Children's and the Towel Placement Kit!
