  • Designed for clean penetration in woven materials
  • Effective with light to medium-weight woven fabrics, reducing or eliminating puckering
  • Popular for use with standard 40wt embroidery thread
  • Not recommended for knit fabrics

DIME needle are chrome-plated. Chrome-plated needles are long lasting and the most commonly used needle type, delivering good performance on all general types of blank goods.

This point type is designed to make a clean penetration in woven materials. This needle works well with light to medium weight woven fabrics, helping to reduce or eliminate puckering on this fabric type.  One of the most popular blade sizes, it works well with standard size 40 embroidery thread.

Not for knits- rather for lightweight woven fabrics including quilting cottons and densely woven synthetic fabrics such as nylon and polyester. The point is more slender than a ballpoint, giving a clean penetration that helps to reduce puckering on quilting cotton, windbreakers, pillows, and hankies. Make the smallest footprint possible on waterproof materials and fragile materials other than knits.

A needle that my machine likes

I bought a Bernette b-79 a couple of months ago. I have had nothing but trouble working with embroidery. I've tried several brands of needles and continue to have thread issues. I attended a Dime educational seminar from my retailer and thought I would go ahead and purchase a pack of these needles. I am shocked. For the first time, I was able to complete a project with no thread issues. This has remained consistent. Project after project, no issues. I've tried several brands of needles, and so far, Dime is the only one my machine seems to like. I don't know why or what is different. I have since bought more sizes in the sharp needle.
